🏡 Week 24 Home Check Reminder

Welcome to Week 24 of the Weekly Home Check

This week, we’ve got just one simple task: lubricating your garage doors. It’s a quick job that keeps everything running smoothly, cuts down on noise, and helps extend the life of your garage door system.

🛠️ Lubricate Your Garage Doors

  • Disconnect from the power source to prevent accidental operation
  • Wipe off the dirt and dust from the tracks, but do not lubricate the tracks themselves.
  • Lubricate the moving parts: hinges, rollers, springs, locks, bearing plates. I like this 3-in-1 Garage Door Lubricant or this plant based lubricant. (Don't use WD-40) Wipe off any overspray.
  • Apply a small amount of lubricant to the chain or screw.
  • After lubricating, open and close the garage door manually a few times to distribute the lubricant evenly across all parts.
  • Reconnect the power source and test the door to ensure it's operating smoothly and quietly.

Welcome to Week 27 of the Weekly Home Check This week, we're continuing with some bathroom maintenance: replacing old caulking and sealing tile grout. 🛠 Replace Bathroom Caulking: Over time, caulking can deteriorate, crack, or grow mold, compromising the waterproof barrier around your tub, shower, and sinks. Welcome to Week 26 of the Weekly Home Check This week, we’re tackling a spot that’s easy to overlook—the toilet tank! While most people regularly clean the bowl and exterior, the tank often gets missed. 🚽 Toilet Bowl Tank: Over time, mineral deposits, mold, and mildew can build up inside the tank. This can lead to unpleasant odors, discoloration of the water, and potential damage to the toilet's internal components. The tank should be cleaned 1-2 times a year. Turn Off the Water Supply: Turn...
