🏠 Week 21 Home Check Reminder

Welcome to Week 21 of the Weekly Home Check

Hope you're all having a great Memorial Day weekend!

This week, we’re focusing on outdoor upkeep—caring for our outdoor surfaces such as asphalt, concrete, and pavers. Then also sealing gaps and cracks to prevents pests from entering the home. Let’s get to it!

🪨 Blacktop, Concrete, and Pavers:

  • Sweep away any debris, leaves, or dirt from your driveways, sidewalks, and patio areas.
  • Use a pressure washer to remove stubborn stains and grime
  • Asphalt/Concrete- Fill any cracks or holes with a gap filler, then apply a sealer to protect the surface from UV rays and harsh weather.
  • Pavers - Inspect for any loose or uneven pieces. If needed, pressure wash between the pavers and replace with a polymeric sand.

🐜 Sealing Gaps and Cracks to Prevent Pests

  • Exterior Walls: Inspect exterior walls, foundation, and around doors and windows for gaps and cracks where pests can enter.
  • Use Caulk or Foam: Use a some steel wool mesh or expandable foam sealant to seal gaps around pipes, wires, vents, and other openings.
  • Repair Screens: Check window screens and repair any holes or tears with some screen repair tape.
